Chapter 5 - Modern Ethernet
  1. APC Connector- Angled Physical Contact Connector
  2. Baseband – One signal that travels over the wires of the network
  3. Broadband – Multiple signals that travel over the wires of the network
  4. EMI- Electromagnetic Interference
  5. Fast Ethernet – A cable that has a higher speed than other Ethernet cables
  6. Flat-surface Connector – Older, imperfect version of PC connector
  7. Full-duplex - A type of communication in which data can flow in multiple ways
  8. Gigabit Ethernet – A term used to describe 1 Gbps Ethernet
  9. GBIC- Gigabit Interface Converter
  10. Half-duplex – A type of communication in which data can flow a single way.
  11. LC- Circuit with an inductor and a capacitor
  12. MT-RJ- Mechanical Transfer Registered Jack
  13. MSA- Multi-source Agreement
  14. PC Connector- Physical Contact Connector
  15. SFF- Small Form Factor
  16. SFP- Small Form-factor Pluggable
  17. S0NET- Synchronous optical networking
